Descripton

After 2004's Djursland event we decided to have a smaller 2005 event in London and then to hold a larger more international 2006 event in India. Apart from the thematic tracks one of the main activitites for the 2005 prepcon therefore is to start the longer term organisation of the 2006 Indian event and to plan a series of regional events - one in each continent to prepare for Wsfii.2006.

To make a start on this we're organising this workshop and arranged funding from the Open Society Insititute to fund flying about 10 of the potential organisers of the 2006 event to London. We are supporting the key Indian organisers of wsfii.mumbai and wsfii.2006 as well as at least one participant from each continent.

The 2006-organisers track is of course open to any who would like to contribute before, during and after the workshop week. The current plan is that the London event is the first of a series of regional prepcon's in a similar style which will each form their own local organisers tracks. This workshop shouldn't take up all of the time of those involved so we hope that people will be able to take part in the other tracks as well.

Status

We have received funding for the workshop and have invited and supported a small international group of participants with others kindly getting to the workshop under their own steam.

Workshop Agenda

Overview

The days are split into 2 sessions;

The morning session is structured around discussions and the afternoon of all days but friday left intentionally more open for working on the various outputs of the workshop.

This should allow space to continue work that was discussed in the morning picking up on themes that emerge during the day and working on the specific texts or research to back up the next days work.

For people involved in other WsfiiWorkshops happening during the week, the afternoon sessions also give the opportunity to participate in those.

Output

During the workshop week we aim to generate a few documents as output.
